Join Us for a Community Read-Aloud of A Christmas Carol

Usher in the spirit of the season by participating in the Twin Falls Public Library's second annual community reading of Charles Dickens’ classic novella, A Christmas Carol, in partnership with the Twin Falls Theatre Collective!

About the Event

Join us as we read the entire story from start to finish! This special event is open to everyone! Individuals, families, book clubs, and groups are all encouraged to attend and participate. Readers of all levels are welcome to sign up to read a portion of the book to read aloud, or you can just come listen to the story!

Participation Guidelines

• Sign-Up: If you'd like to read, please commit to being at the library ten minutes before your reading slot and remain for the full thirty minutes (and hopefully longer). Sign-up at tfpl.org/community-read.
• Reading Slots: We will assign 3-5 readers per slot, with each reader reading for 7-10 minutes and listening to others.
• Bring Your Family and Friends: Encourage your loved ones to come and support you while you read!
• Festive Atmosphere: If you can, dress up in festive attire or costumes (optional).
• Treats and Activities: Enjoy hot cocoa, festive treats, and a quiet craft you can work on while you listen!

'Tis the season for giving - and what better way to share the holiday spirit than with a Secret Santa book exchange! This year, we’re bringing back Secret Santa Holds, where you recommend a book you love, and in return, you’ll receive a hand-picked recommendation from another patron. It’s a fun way to discover something new while sharing your favorite reads with others!

Fill out the form at tfpl.org/secret-santa by December 13th to share a book recommendation and let us know what you like to read. Then, we'll match you with another patron's recommendation, wrap it up for you to pick up at the Library, and let you know when it's ready.

Join us on December 5th at 10:30 AM for our annual celebration of early literacy! We'll have a storytime, lots of fun literacy games and activities, and we'll be giving out great books and other materials. We even have special guests coming: members of our city council and our local state legislators! All pre-elementary kids are invited to this special celebration.

You're cordially invited to join us for an evening celebrating Jane Austen's 250th birthday on Tuesday, December 16th, 6-8 PM. We'll have crafts, games, trivia, tea, and light refreshments, all in honor of one of the world's most endearing, and enduring, authors. Dress in Regency costume if you like!
