Library Staff

The Library will be launching a new program in January called Ready, Set Kindergarten. This program is designed to help children learn kindergarten readiness concepts to support their transition into kindergarten. Idaho is one of 2 states that does not require kindergarten or offer preschool. We are the lowest in the country for preschool enrollment and we rank 47th for education. Ready, Set Kindergarten target is to prepare mind and bodies for kindergarten. We will teach new letters, weather, day of the week and learn numbers through song and rhythm. The children will learn pattern work and at the end of each program the parents will be provided with homework to work with their child at home. The Library is offering two programs weekly. One on Wednesday mornings at 10:30 am. and one on Thursday evenings at 6:00 pm. The Library will provide dinner for the evening program. We are reaching out to community members and organizations for donations towards the meal. The program will run for 21 weeks, beginning the 2nd week of January. The program will last for 45 minutes to an hour and you can join at any time. There will be no sign up for this program. The only requirement is the child must be entering kindergarten in the fall. For more information on the program you may contact Kasi at 208-733-2964. Information is also provided on our face book page
