Erica Littlefield, Youth Services Librarian presented. Youth services has been busy with all kinds of programs going on. If you get a chance come downstairs and look at our handprints on the pillar. We had 117 patrons and staff place painted handprints on the pillar.

I have several goals for this upcoming year, one being a mural to be painted by the big windows. CSI Art Professor, Angela Baxter will be collecting ideas from her students for the mural and one of her artist will paint the mural. The plan is to have the ideas by early Spring and be finished by the end of the Summer. The TFPLF has agreed to help fund this project.

Another goal for this year is to have a popular children’s author, Tui T. Sutherland come and visit the library. Tui T. is the author of the popular Wings of Fire. A book we cannot keep on our shelves. If accepted, she would do three presentations, the library, Perrine Elementary and South Hills Middle School. Presentations would be early Spring/Fall of 2020 targeting 3rd – 7th and 8th grades. Application needs to be summited by the new year. TFPLF has agreed to help with the funding to have Tui T. Sutherland come and present.

Library Director

2019 Annual report is due January 1, 2020. Part of our strategic planning is to have our digital archiving updated beyond 2010 – 2013. At one time we received the information from the Times News but have stopped receiving.
